The Role: 
As a Yardman in our team, you will play a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly by managing materials, equipment, and yard organisation. You will support project teams by ensuring plant and resources are prepared, maintained, and readily available when needed.

Working in a fast-paced environment, this role requires strong attention to safety, teamwork, and the ability to take initiative.

What you’ll be responsible for: 
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment, including clear accessways and safe traffic flow
  • Load, unload, receive, check, and store materials, plant, and equipment efficiently
  • Prepare and stage materials and equipment for upcoming projects
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of tools, plant, and equipment, reporting faults as required
  • Operate forklifts, loaders, or other machinery (where licensed) in a safe and compliant manner
  • Manage stock levels and assist with inventory control processes
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are stored securely when not in use
  • Support tradespeople, operators, and subcontractors with general yard and labouring duties
  • Direct and assist delivery drivers and subcontractors within the yard
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety (WHS) policies and procedures
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to meet daily operational requirements

About You: 
You’re organised, hands-on, and calm under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy yard environment. You take pride in keeping the yard tidy, equipment ready, and materials in the right place.

You’ll bring: 
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced yard environment
  • Strong team player, able to effectively support trades, operators, and site supervisors
  • Ability to follow instructions, site procedures, and WHS requirements with a high level of accuracy
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, with hands-on experience handling, maintaining, or assisting with plant and equipment
  • Welding or basic fabrication skills relevant to construction and yard maintenance (desirable)
  • Previous experience in construction yards, warehousing, or similar heavy industry environments
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence, with HR/MR licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS), including hazard identification and safe manual handling practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and physically fit, with the ability to perform labour-intensive tasks in outdoor conditions
